What does Business Internet Tech do?

We’re a technology advisor. We help businesses find, compare, and install internet, voice, SD-WAN, and network services from over 200 carrier partners. Think of us as a broker for business connectivity — we pull competing quotes, negotiate pricing, and manage the installation process. Our service is free to you; the carriers pay our advisory fee.

Is there really no cost to us?

Correct. Carriers pay us an advisory/referral fee when we bring them a customer. This is standard in the telecom industry. Your pricing is the same (often better, because we negotiate) as going direct to the carrier. There’s no markup, no hidden fee, and no obligation.

What services do you quote?

Our full catalog includes: Business Internet (Fiber, DIA, Cable, DSL, Fixed Wireless, Satellite), SD-WAN, MPLS, UCaaS, CCaaS, SIP Trunking, Hosted VoIP, PRI, Data Centers & Colocation, Cloud Connectivity, Managed Security (MDR, SIEM, SOC), Cybersecurity Assessments, DDoS Protection, and Telecom Expense Auditing.

How long does the quoting process take?

For most services, we deliver competing quotes within 48 hours of receiving your requirements. Complex multi-site or SD-WAN designs may take 3–5 business days. Installation timelines vary by service type — broadband may install in 1–2 weeks while fiber construction can take 60–90 days.

Internet & Networking

What’s the difference between DIA and broadband?

Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) gives you a private, symmetrical connection with guaranteed bandwidth and an SLA covering uptime and latency. Broadband (cable, DSL) is shared infrastructure with variable speeds and no performance guarantees. DIA costs more but is essential for businesses that depend on consistent connectivity.

How much bandwidth does my business need?

It depends on headcount, applications, and usage patterns. A rough starting point: 10–25 Mbps per 10 employees for general office work. Add more for video conferencing, cloud applications, VoIP, and large file transfers. We can analyze your current usage and recommend the right speed tier.

Should I get SD-WAN or just faster internet?

If you have multiple locations that need to share applications and data, SD-WAN is usually the right answer. If you have one location, upgrading your internet circuit (fiber DIA with a wireless backup) is simpler and more cost-effective. We’ll recommend the right approach based on your situation.

Can you help with redundancy and failover?

Yes. We commonly design primary + backup configurations: Fiber DIA as the primary with 5G or Fixed Wireless as failover. The two connections run on different infrastructure (different cables, different towers), so a single point of failure doesn’t take both down. SD-WAN handles automatic failover between them.

Voice & Communications

UCaaS, CCaaS, SIP Trunking — which do I need?

UCaaS if you want to move your entire phone system to the cloud and get video/chat included. SIP Trunking if you have a PBX you want to keep but need cheaper, more flexible voice connectivity. CCaaS if you have a customer-facing team that needs call queues, IVR, routing, and agent analytics. Many businesses use a combination.

Can I keep my existing phone numbers?

Yes. Number porting is standard across all voice services. We coordinate the porting process to ensure zero downtime during the transition. Porting typically takes 7–14 business days.

Telecom Audits

What is a telecom audit?

We review your current telecom invoices and compare your rates against real-time market pricing. We look for billing errors, rate reductions, unused services, and contract optimization opportunities. Most businesses save 20–40% without changing providers or service levels.

What do you need to perform an audit?

Just your recent telecom invoices (internet, voice, WAN). You can email them to us or upload them through our contact form. We handle the analysis and come back with a savings report, typically within one week.

Is there a fee for the audit?

No. The initial audit and savings analysis is free. If we identify savings opportunities and you’d like us to execute the changes (renegotiate contracts, migrate services), we earn our fee from the new carrier. You pay nothing.
